Meidensha Corporation (Meiden) will add a 500kW model, the SP1000-500, to its lineup of solar inverters and put it on the market on October 1, 2017.

After the April enforcement of the revised Act on Special Measures for Renewable Energy, which modified Japan’s feed-in tariff system for renewable energy, such power generators are now required to review their price-setting process and conduct Operation and Maintenance (O&M) work. As a result, demand for low-cost inverters with high conversion efficiency is increasing. In response to this market trend, Meiden developed a 500kW inverter that reinforces a lineup already featuring 100kW and 250kW models.

Advantages:
1. The world’s highest conversion efficiency
The SP1000-500 model has conversion efficiency of 98.7 percent, the world’s highest level.

2. Lower price
The product’s price has been halved compared with Meiden’s 250kW model, the SP320.

Meiden, which has sold more than 4,000 power conditioners, aims to sell 100 units of 500kW model in fiscal 2018. Meiden strives to meet the needs of customers in the solar power generation field by providing highly efficient, low-cost inverters, while helping address global warming through energy saving attained by our products.
