News Releases 2026Powering the Next Generation
Meiden Singapore collaborated with the Land Transport Authority to provide railway power systems equipment for use as educational and training facilities at the Singapore Institute of Technology. The new Power Systems Lab is designed to strengthen Singapore’s railway engineering talent pipeline by bringing industry-grade railway power systems into an applied learning environment. Through this facility, students can connect classroom knowledge with real-world applications and gain practical exposure to railway power systems.
The lab combines railway power distribution and protection systems with immersive virtual reality simulations, allowing students to gain practical experience in substation operations within a safe and controlled setting.
By bridging theory and practice, the facility supports the development of specialised skills in traction power, power distribution and protection systems—capabilities that are increasingly important as Singapore’s rail network expands.
Meiden Singapore is committed to knowledge sharing, capability building and the development of future-ready engineering talent.
Through collaboration between industry and academia, Meiden Singapore aims to help equip the next generation of engineers with the skills needed to support the continued growth and reliability of Singapore’s rail network.
