Meidensha Corporation will celebrate its 120th anniversary on 22nd December 2017. We wish to convey our sincerest gratitude to our customers as our success story remains incomplete without their support all along our history.

Meidensha was founded by Housui Shigemune in 1897 as a manufacturer of Japan-made electric motors, which had later become a preferred brand known as “Meiden Motors”. Since then, the company has contributed to the development of Japan with its electrical engineering technologies.
Starting in January 2017, Meidensha will hold various anniversary projects.These projects include creation of a commemorative logo, concept words, original poem by Japan’s most legendary poet, Shuntaro Tanigawa, and some other events to be held.
The start of the 120th year is also the beginning of a new history towards realization of a more prosperous tomorrow.We, as a company which bears the responsibility of supporting not only social infrastructure but also people’s lives, will continue to work hard each day in creating innovative ideas and to offer new technologies and values.

Concept words

Housui Shigemune founded Meidensha to support social infrastructure and people’s lives by electric technology. His belief remains a part of our core spirit today. The concept words express our determination to continue supporting society through social infrastructure development.

Logo

Growing infrastructure connects people across the world. We have turned “0” in 120 into a globe, and the 2 rings contained within it signify the connection between people and infrastructure. The ripple-like design made up of the two rings also represents the bright future of infrastructure and people’s lives spreading out by Meidensha.

Establishing Anniversary portal site

Our anniversary portal site opens on 15th December 2016. Starting with the page of concept words, the site contains the page to express our beliefs that have been passed down through generations and the page of the original poem created by a legendary poet, Shuntaro Tanigawa. The history page depicts the 120-year timeline by products that have made our history.
