2018-02-01

Meiden Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (Meiden Malaysia), a subsidiary of Meidensha Corporation (Meiden), set up a new branch office in the Malaysian state of Johor on February 1 and started full-fledged business operations on the Malay Peninsula.

Establishment of the new office will enable Meiden Malaysia to provide products and services to clients in Johor, where many Japanese-affiliated companies are based. It aims to win contracts for constructing or renewing facilities, mainly substation equipment, as well as conducting inspections and maintenance work at these facilities.

Background and purpose of setting up the new office
1. Background
Development in this region since the 1980s has attracted the second-highest number of Japanese-affiliated companies in Malaysia, following the Kuala Lumpur area. Demand for building and renewing substation equipment as well as inspection and maintenance work is expected to grow for years to come.

2. Purpose
Meiden Malaysia’s new office will enable the company to build closer ties with customers. The office will respond to new customers’ inquiries, solve customers’ problems, carry out routine inspection and maintenance work to ensure equipment remains in excellent working order, and swiftly dispatch employees to facilities to fix problems that arise.

Since Meiden started operations in Malaysia in 1973, the company has conducted business related to electrical work, technology consulting and after-purchase servicing, capitalizing on its strengths nurtured as a manufacturer and electrical engineering company.

Establishing the Johor office at Malaysia’s southern tip will ensure Meiden can provide customers with “peace of mind and satisfaction,” the Meiden Group’s values, and further improve its services.
