About us | When was the Company established? | The Company began in 1897 as a privately owned electrical machinery workshop. Company founder Hosui Shigemune was a mechanical engineer from Yamaguchi prefecture. The Company’s initial focus was repairing foreign-made electrical equipment and manufacturing switches, but it also worked on creating a domestically produced electric motor. It was established in 1917 as The Meidensha Corporation. |
