Meidensha Corporation (Meiden) won the grand prize in the electrical, communications and IT category of the 68th Nikkei Advertising Award sponsored by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. The award-winning work is a series of “Electricity: Taking action.” published in the Nihon Keizai Shimbun from December 2018 to July 2019. This is the second consecutive year following the award of excellence in the category in 2018.
This series of advertisements has been produced to widely convey the thoughts, “for the peace of mind and joy of our customers, and the precious lives of people beyond them, Meiden Group quality will connect with a more prosperous tomorrow. This is our never-changing mission” behind Meiden’s corporate slogan, and corporate stance to continue to support the social infrastructure with the power of “people and technology” which is at the foundation of the Meiden Group Quality.
Centering on the catchphrase of “Electricity: Taking action.”, we expressed the importance of what Meiden group supports by cutting out various life scenes by season until 2018. The advertising in 2019 focuses on the Group's business and appeals to the Meiden Group's sense of mission and understanding of the business by depicting the lives of people ahead. The latest advertisement posted today depicts the group's determination to support an evolving mobility society with drive systems for electric vehicles such as EVs.
Meiden is striving to create a brighter future by solving social issues through enhancing the quality of our people and technology. Meiden will continue using easy-to-understand advertisements and other means of communication to convey details of our efforts to achieve these goals to our stakeholders.
*The Nikkei Advertising Awards, one of Japan’s leading accolades for advertisements, started in 1952 and this year observed the 68th year of its inception. The awards are given to excellent advertisement pieces and are selected on criteria including creativity and novelty. This year, advertisers and advertising agencies submitted 1,094 entries.
