Meiden wins BCAO prize for building robust crisis management regime

2020-10-01

Meidensha Corporation (Meiden) has won an Excellent Practices Prize in the Business Continuity Category at the 14th BCAO Awards given by the Business Continuity Advancement Organization (BCAO)*. The organization recognized Meiden’s efforts to compile business continuity plans and establish a robust crisis management system. This is Meiden’s first BCAO prize.

Established in 2006, the BCAO Awards commend individuals and organizations that help to spread business continuity efforts in Japan.

In 2018, the Meiden Group launched projects to compile a business continuity plan (BCP) for each business department and build a business continuity management (BCM) system.

Under its policy of establishing a crisis management system by involving all executives and employees, Meiden identified management challenges from the business continuity perspective and conducted training sessions that simulated crisis situations. In addition, workshops detailing how to compile a BCP prepared employees to handle crisis management. BCAO applauded Meiden’s efforts to change employee awareness by involving each one in this process and encouraging them to take action on BCP-related matters.
