Meidensha Corporation (Meiden) won the excellence prize in the electrical, communications and IT category of the 69th Nikkei Advertising Awards organized by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. The award-winning work is the June 2020 version of the “Electricity: Taking action.” series published in the Nihon Keizai Shimbun on June 19, 2020. The company won an award in the same category in 2019 and 2018.
This series of advertisements has been produced to widely convey the following message behind the company’s slogan of “Quality connecting the next”: “For the peace of mind and joy of our customers, and the precious lives of people beyond them, the Meiden Group quality will connect with a more prosperous tomorrow. This is our never-changing mission.” The ads also convey the Group’s corporate stance to continue to support social infrastructure with the power of “people and technology,” which is the basis of the Meiden Group Quality.
In the prize-winning ad, Meiden conveyed its message as a corporation to provide continuous support for social infrastructure: In a daily life of rapid changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Meiden stands by people under any circumstance in conducting business to head together toward the future, while preserving things we should not change under such a situation. The latest ad published today reflects Meiden’s intentions to support small, happy moments in daily life and its wishes for the future with the power of electricity, even in an age of uncertainty overshadowed by COVID-19.
Meiden strives to create a brighter future by devoting itself to solving social issues by enhancing the “quality of our people and technology.” Meiden will continue using easy-to-understand advertisements and other means of communication to share details of the Group’s efforts toward achieving these goals with its stakeholders.
* The Nikkei Advertising Awards, one of Japan’s leading accolades for advertisements, started in 1952, this year marking the 69th year since its inception. The awards are given to excellent advertisement pieces and are selected based on criteria including creativity and novelty. This year, a total of 10,385 entries were submitted by advertisers and advertising agencies.
