- Meiden announces a plan to issue Green Bonds Five-year bond totaling six billion yen will be issued in July 2019.
As already reported in the press release issued on 29 March 2019, Meidensha Corporation (Meiden) is planning to issue Green Bonds through a public offering in the Japanese domestic bond market to procure funds to strengthen mass-production capacities for electric vehicles motors and inverters. Bond valuing six billion yen will be supported by SMBC Nikko Securities Inc. as a green bond structuring agent. The bond is planned to be issued in July 2019, subject to market conditions, and is scheduled to mature in five years.
With the issuance of Green Bonds, Meiden intends to expand the range of fund procurement resources, while trying to ensure that a wide range of stakeholders deepen their understanding about Meiden’s active approach to protect the environment.
Together with that, we are hoping to further contribute to the realization of a sustainable recycling-oriented economy and society.
